Tourism is a way of recreating memories, ‘re-imagining’ history and constructing our present.” It can help us learn from the past, and teach us to detect those ideas of religious hostility, racial inferiority and the like, which generate violence, wars and conflicts. We need to challenge these ideas before they begin to flower and prosper.
